Solar Ireland Conference 2026: Energising Life – Decarbonising how we live
Ireland’s solar sector has grown rapidly in recent years, with deployment accelerating across utility-scale projects, rooftops, farms and communities. The next challenge is ensuring the systems, policies and infrastructure are in place to support the next phase of growth.
As Europe prepares to mark European Solar Day, the conversation is increasingly shifting from ambition to delivery.
Taking place on 18 June 2026 at the RDS Dublin, Solar Ireland Conference 2026 will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, developers, grid operators and international experts to explore what comes next for Ireland and Europe’s solar transition.
Under the theme “Energising Life: Decarbonising how we live”, discussions will cover:
- Rooftop solar and consumer participation
- Solar farms, land use and rural renewal
- Grid readiness and system development
- Planning, regulation and delivery barriers
- Energy affordability and inclusion
- International perspectives on mature solar markets
Confirmed speakers include Minister Darragh O’Brien and Secretary General Oonagh Buckley, alongside representatives from industry, system operators and European organisations, including José Donoso, CEO of UNEF; Lennart van Walsum from the Global Solar Council; and Catarina Augusto from SolarPower Europe, who will share lessons on scaling deployment, enabling delivery and accelerating solar across Europe and beyond.
