Solar Ireland and RePower Ukraine partner to support solar-powered resilience
Solar Ireland has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the RePower Ukraine Charitable Foundation, marking the beginning of a partnership built on solidarity, knowledge sharing and the shared belief that clean energy should power every community.
The Memorandum was signed during Solar Ireland 2025, the association’s flagship annual conference, which brought together more than 600 delegates from across Ireland and Europe. The event addressed key issues shaping Ireland’s clean energy future, including grid modernisation, storage integration, biodiversity, skills and sustainable investment. Against that backdrop, the signing symbolised how Ireland’s solar community is engaging globally to deliver both environmental and social impact.
RePower Ukraine delivers solar and storage projects to hospitals, schools and municipal facilities across Ukraine, providing light, warmth and stability in the most challenging of circumstances. Through this partnership, Solar Ireland will act as a communications and advocacy partner, helping to raise visibility for RePower Ukraine’s work and share best practices from Ireland’s fast-growing solar sector.
“This partnership is about connection between people, between countries and between shared values,” said Ronan Power, CEO of Solar Ireland. “Ireland’s solar community knows the power of collective action. By supporting RePower Ukraine, we can help ensure solar delivers not only cleaner energy but hope and resilience where it’s needed most.”
"Ukraine and Ireland share a strong commitment to energy independence made possible through solar technology. Today, solar energy supported by battery storage is strengthening Ukrainian resilience, from homes and businesses to the national grid. But solar is more than just an energy business; it's a global community built on solidarity and shared values. We deeply appreciate the first steps of cooperation with Solar Ireland and thank Ronan Power and the Solar Ireland team for their support," said Artem Semenyshyn, Co-Founder and Board Member of RePower Ukraine Foundation.
Both organisations will collaborate on awareness-raising initiatives, expert exchanges and joint events highlighting the humanitarian and sustainability benefits of solar. The partnership aligns with Solar Ireland’s guiding principles: sustainability-driven, innovation-led, collaborative by nature, acting with integrity and inclusive in purpose.
