Member News - Power Capital energises Creevy Solar Farm in Co. Roscommon

Industry

Solar Ireland member Power Capital Renewable Energy has energised its 6.46 MWp Creevy Solar Farm and associated substation in Co. Roscommon, marking another milestone in the company’s growing Irish solar portfolio.

The project exported first power following successful transformer soak testing and becomes Power Capital’s sixth energised solar farm in Ireland.

Built across a 34-acre site, Creevy forms part of the company’s wider pipeline of solar and battery storage projects currently under construction and development across the country.

The milestone follows recent confirmation that Power Capital secured a €100 million loan from the European Investment Bank to support the development of four large-scale solar farms under the Dolmen Solar project.

As utility-scale solar continues to expand across Ireland, projects such as Creevy highlight the continued progress being made in delivering new renewable generation capacity onto the grid.
