A new European renewable energy company, Perigus Energy, has officially launched following the completion of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ (CIP) acquisition of Ørsted’s European onshore platform through its CI V flagship fund.

Headquartered in Cork, Perigus Energy will develop, build and operate onshore wind, solar and battery storage projects across Ireland, Germany, the United Kingdom and Spain.

The company launches with a combined operational and under-construction portfolio of 826 MW, alongside a multi-gigawatt development pipeline across key European markets. Existing projects, partnerships and commercial agreements will continue unchanged following the transaction.

Perigus Energy’s portfolio currently generates enough renewable electricity to power the equivalent of approximately 600,000 European homes, with additional projects under construction in Ireland and Germany.

Commenting on the launch, Perigus Energy CEO Kieran White said the company is entering “a very exciting next chapter” as it continues to scale renewable energy delivery across Europe.

The launch marks another significant development for Ireland’s renewable energy sector, with Cork remaining the company’s European headquarters.
